 Mt. Yale 10/7/2006

My wife, dog and I started out at Denny Creek Trailhead around 7:30 on 10/7 and summitted around 11:45AM. The trail below treeline was pretty dry. Around 12,000' you will start to find a light dusting of snow that will continue to get deeper as you reach the ridge where you will find 6"-8" of snow. The step leading up to the summitt have about a foot of drifts and are somewhat slick but I was still able to carry a 60lb Lab through some of it!

Over all it was a good day for a hike some of the high winds slowed us down a little but didnt stop us. If conditions stay Mild there should be another week or so of good climbing. Attached are some pictures from the hike.
