La Plata - Southwest ridge w/ a 10 year old

My 10 year old daughter and I climbed La Plata from Winfield. It took us a little over 11 hours to make it - roundtrip.

The boggy area (near treeline, with willow) was certainly muddy!

There was some snow on the upper portions of the peak but it was quite manageable.

This was my daugther‘s 2nd 14er and good fit for her! Her 1st one was RedCloud June 2006.
