This is my first trip report and it will be a short trip report; but figured I'd put the info out here for anyone interested.
We "slept" in the vehicle in the parking lot for about two hours before getting up and hitting the trailhead at 2:30 am. We were in the middle of the boulderfield at sunrise and at the keyhole at 6am.
The very little snow that is in the trough is completely avoidable and we didn't need an ice axe or crampons.......had I brought any I wouldn't have used them. Just watch for some of the wet rocks that are a little slippery.
(My wife, who was always waiting for me to catch up to her).
Before the trip I had some anxiety over the exposure at the narrows; however, they are not nearly as bad in person as they look in the pictures. I had no problems and the exposure of the entire trip wasn't bad at all (for me anyway).
We stayed on the summit for about a half an hour and then began the knee-killing descent. Good thing I loaded up on ibuprofen on the summit.
We were back to the parking lot at 1:30pm. It was a good thing we started early, because by the time we got down the clouds were getting thicker and darker.
WHAT AN AWESOME MOUNTAIN!!!
