 YorkKid1‘s 1st 14er - Mt. Sherman

Trip Report by YorkKid1's father (YorkKids' Dad)

This was YorkKid1's first 14er (11 Years old). We decided to camp out the night before the hike. We pulled off the side of the dirt road and set up camp at an elevation of about 11,800 Ft (just below the gate @ 12,100 Ft).

We reached the summit in about 2.5 hours (8:50 AM) and unfortunately the clouds rolled in right away.

Then the descent came.....
YorkKid1 didn't like the steep descent down on the loose rocks. I probably should have taken her down the normal trail.

Overall YorkKid1 had a great time, and I can't wait to take her on another one.

Congrats YorkKid1.

Love ya,
Dad

Congrats to the Kid's, that is fantastic. What else is fantastic is in the photos of the campfire you can clearly see beer bottles in the kid's chairs...good times! I am sure they weren't drinking, but i laughed when I noticed it.
