 Columbia - Ascent and Decent

I am a hiker who brings dogs on 14ers. My dog Buddy is a small, but very capable dog. He has hiked 28 14ers w/ repeats including some tough hikes. If I know then what I know now....I would never have subjected Buddy to this hike. I would never discourage dog owners from bringing dogs up 14ers, but this particular hike was especially rocky and grueling.

Another small dogs that hiked in this group had 3 bloody paws and could barely walk half the hike.

Big, athletic dogs can do this hike. All other dogs need protective booties for this hike.
