 Pikes Peak, images added

I hiked Pikes Peak yesterday from Crags TH. I left the
TH at 7:30AM. I followed exactly the trail information
posted at 14ers.com, and it is very accurate.

The wind was blowing really hard from the west. I
kept staying low all the way yet I was blown backward
several times after passing Devil's Playground. It felt
like the wind sucked the oxygen out of my lung. I
made it to the summit at 1:30PM. A slow speed but
I am still happy that I made it under the condition.

The temperature was between 40-60F along the trail.
There were only a few pockets of snow of a few inches
on the ground. In other words, the only challenge was
the wind yesterday.

I started the descend at 2:30PM, with Bob and Ryan
who also started out from Crags TH and made it to the
summit one hour before me. The descend was a lot
easier when gravity helped us to overcome the wind
force. We made it back to the TH at 5:30PM. Tiny
snow flakes were starting to fall from the sky right
after we arrived at the TH.

Bob and Ryan, if you are reading this, please contact
me asap. I've lost all my photos and videos from my
camera! Or else I would've post some photos with
this report.

Luckily, photos were recovered. Attached below.

Some more issues I forgot to mention last time.

(1) Since there is a cafeteria on the summit, I found out that
I could have slashed the weight of my backpack by half.
(2) Even though the temperature was not too low, the wind chill
factor must have been. My ski mask helped a lot in protecting
my face and ears.
(3) Gaiters may become necessary by now with the fresh snow added
on this past Sunday, though I was wearing just my hiking shoes
on Saturday.

Nice job with your report, I was wondering how things were up high given the forecasts. I'm sorry to see that you lost your cameras, that sucks! I hope you find them with the help of your other climbing companions.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I wish I would have had the time to climb Pikes this weekend.
