 Huron NW Slopes II

A group of nine of us from across the US based our 3 day Fourteener climbing adventure out of Frisco. Day One was Mt. Huron. We left our Frisco town home at just before 6:00 AM and arrived at the South Winfield Trailhead at around 7:15 AM. Our group included folks from Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota and New York. Some were friends of mine others were work associates. For two in the group it was to be their first Fourteener, a second for two others and somewhere between 10-15 for the rest of us.

The next three photos were as we were beginning to leave treeline, ready for the push to the summit.

Most of the way up the summit appears covered with a light cloud cover.

At the higher elevations there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. By the time we headed back down it was gone. Made a little slippery on the way up. Hiking poles made a big difference.

Another view behind us as we near the top.

Mike (Colorado Springs) and Tim (Little Rock) near the summit. This was to be Mike's second and Tim's first!
