 Looking for snow

I went up to the Montgomery Reservoir area looking for a nice strip of snow to ski. I thought the North face of Democrat would be my best bet, but as I hiked up the Wheeler Mountain jeep trail I saw a nice long line off the South side of Clinton's East ridge (is there a name for this couloir?). The snow was super firm a few inches under the wet surface and made for a safe climb and a nice July ski descent. I bet the snow remains for another month at least.

Just read seekanddestroy99‘s TR and learned that the line is named either the Lewinskey Slot or Monica‘s Descent. Love the names. Cigars, ha!

nice line-- we skied this a few weeks ago from the sub-peak of clinton down to the lake. that area holds a LOT of snow, even on dry years. were our tracks still there?

I was with seekanddestroy99 skiing the Lewinsky Slot. We skied the bowl as well. Great day.

Got some POV of clinton too.
