 Mosquito east face

After a week of hunting elk in the Crested Butte Area, with a large early season storm hitting Colorado, I was anxious to get some turns in. Arriving back to Breck late on Thursday night after a 3:30 am wake up and long hunt, plans to ski something Friday were initiated. After mulling over the options, plans to drive south to either Sherman or Mosquito Basin commenced at noon. We drove up Mosquito pass RD until previous tracks ended, and skinned up into the basin to see many possibilities up high with the goal of standing on top of one of the peaks.

We were able to skin to the top of Mosquito by a little before 4pm and back to the truck by 5. Sking was great wind buff on the ridge and soft snow in the gully.
