is where its at, damn straight Benners! Best backcountry lines in the western hemisphere, hard pressed to find this kind of place anywhere else on the planet. When/if I retire, a Ouray or Ridgeway zip code will have my name written all over it. Hell, I'll live in a cabin down by the river!!!! All you need is a generator, some 0 degree bags, high tech water filter and a line up of AT skis for your San Juan enjoyment.

Great getting out with you again Ben and Glen, this spring is shaping up nicely.

Ski Time?

So what time did you end up turning them downhill? Looks like you got it in great conditions. Did you dig for the dust layer at all? Anyways, congrats on a good day out.

Brian is right! All you need is a cabin close to terrain like this and, well, life would be great.

I believe we pushed off around 11am, which was borderline too late on this day. We were fortunate to have that breeze I mentioned keeping the face somewhat cold, but as soon as it died off the face turned to mush. That said, there was a guy who skied our same line 20 minutes after us and he didn't have any issues. Good thing we got a good freeze.

Thanks for the comments all!

Looks like a fun line! I am jealous. We had plans to head up there Friday but the weather is not cooperating. Oh well, looks like the Sangres will be dryish on Friday...

I forgot how spectacular that basin is when snow covered. Love that shot of Brian with T Ride and Wilsons in the background. Glad you guys were able to get it in before the temps rose too much.

Definitely one of the better basins in Colorado. Great write up and nice job. Looking forward to getting into the San Juans.
