Brian Thomas wrote:Some reflections on the 3rd anniversary of moving to Colorado, as narrated by Jerry Garcia:
Sweet!
Not a huge Dead fan, but this one has a stripped-down, bare-bones bluesy feel that sits right in the pocket.
Good call, Bri!

Who remembers Show Biz Pizza?!
An early version even had pole dancers to go with the drummer which I first mistook for Imperial Stormtroopers.

Not sure if I'll do more 14ers. The trip reports are too tiring.

56 minutes of blissful "electric church music."
Turn up and tune out.

How did my ears ever survive that period?
Don't make no matter anyway,
Now I play in heaven
Cuz I don't live today,
Been gone since 27...
Rolling stone's top guitarist
My catastrophe's to blame
Stone's sixth greatest artist.
Four short years of fame.
RIP, James Marshall Hendrix

Sweet! Right on rijaca! THAT'S something to be happy about!
In that same vein, I've always wanted to see The Allman's. Hopefully this summer if they return.

CLUTCH!!!!
"The greatest battle is not physical but psychological. The demons telling us to give up when we push ourselves to the limit can never be silenced for good. They must always be answered by the quiet, steady dignity that simply refuses to give in. Courage. We all suffer. Keep going." - Graeme Fife

Re: Music
Hugh and Dave will probably like this. Hope a few of you fellow closet guitarists (like me : ) dig it too.
PS - To fully appreciate the music and improvisation, it helps a lot to already know the tune. If you've never heard it, listen to a number of different versions, including vocal versions, then come back to Joe's improvisation on the tune.
Gets really hot at 3:17. From there to 3:45 is my favorite part.
Enjoy!

Re: Music
guy on the upright bass can really play too! Love a good jazz guitarist!
You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know. - Rene Daumal
