A beard is not needed where I'm (more than) likely getting shipped to soon.

Wait, is it needed anywhere? :P

Still waiting for the phone calls to start coming in. (I'm probably waiting for disappointment...cuz they won't be coming!)

Beards do make a difference with face warmth. I noticed a big difference the next day at work! But I now have less chance of ice forming on my face, so there's a plus.

Clearly written by a prepubescent shill who can't grow a half-decent beard.

Happy thoughts!

I certainly understand the dislike for full beards on men...but scruff or a 5 o'clock shadow definitely beats a cleanly-shaven face in my book!

My mid-1990's goatee was specifically one of the attributes that kicked the door open with the woman I married, so I have proof the other way. True, I never got much interest while rockin' the long hair and beard I could not wait to grow after being done with the military, but once I knocked it back to a short goatee the game was on.

She's still never seen me in person without some variation of facial hair. I get a little bored and gotta change it up from time to time - don't know exactly what you'd call what I have now. Sort of a fu-manchu on the mustache end of things, and some on the chin, but they're not interconnected currently.

To the part of the article that addresses how men view facial hair - I was Christmas shopping and went into a store with a guy I'd put in the 19-20 year old range at the counter. As he was ringing me up, he said "Excuse me sir, but I have to say, that mustache has power." In a rare instance of not being caught totally off guard, I said "Yeah, you bet it does." He said, clearly having fun with his temporary holiday retail job, "God bless you and the power that is yours due to that magnificent mustache, sir."

Tallied up, overall having some sort of facial hair going on is too much fun to take a pass on, I'd say.

My own scientific research has lead to different conclusions

My girlfriend actually asked me to grow a full beard, and has responded positively to its continued growth. Now I just need to figure out how to shape it so I don't think I look like a hobo.

Shave your neck, but don't go too high - 1/4" past the lowest point you can still feel your jaw bone is a good place to start. And use clippers, 1/2" is good if you have decent thickness.

Not all, just in aggregate.

Lol. And that is said the study was conducted on "European and Polynesian" women.

I like the comment where the guy says he uses the beard to cover up cold sores and a cleft lip. That gave me a chuckle.

Probably a study sponsored by razor manufacturers...

What's next? A study claiming that women hate body hair on men? Who are these people?! [-(
