Still Here
been scared and battered. My hopes the wind done scattered. Snow has friz me, Sun has baked me,
Looks like between 'em they done Tried to make me
Stop laughin', stop lovin', stop livin'-- But I don't care! I'm still here!

FYI - I have never had an issue just walking up to the Climbing Center in Paradise and getting a permit/pass on the spot before starting the climb, including over July 4th weekend on the DC.

Anyone have any advice on other options than renting a car? There are only 2 of us and the cost seems pretty high. Thanks!

Thanks, but we were thinking more along the lines of a shuttle...like we take from Anchorage to Talkeetna.

It looks like RMI is now recommending a service called Rainier Approach for $200/pp RT. If you have two people it would be about the same or cheaper to get a rental car though!

Anybody looking for a partner from June 25. I'd be willing to give it a shot now that I have plenty of free time.
Or any recommended cheap and reliable company out there? Not sure I want to climb it solo the first time.

Just got our passes and permit reservation today, so about 5 weeks turnaround time? Should be dropping since they're past the initial rush.

Yup. You can get a rental from Costco for $240 for a WEEK. Plus gas, of course...
