I'd love to hear the conditions you experience when you get back from your trip. I'll be hiking Wheeler June 12th.

Enjoy and be safe.

We're going up Bull of the Woods Sunday May 24. Yesterday looked good but the snow started again this afternoon. I'll post the conditions we found next week.

We decided to cancel our planned trip due to weather forecast. I hope to be back when the conditions are better. Villa12, did you make it to the top? Good luck My-Therapy.

Too snowy for my level of experience. I tried to hike the east fork trail, then I tried the middle fork trail and made it the waterfall. Have hopes of going again at the end of July if you want to try to meet up @glenmiz

I made it to the top on Saturday 5/23 via Williams Lake, definitely lots of snow, so if you like ski/board descents...I would hit it soon...probably will be good for another week or so. I skinned in on my split board. Trail is a good trench, consolidated in the am, but prone to postholing in the open areas after noon. There seems to be a good 2-3' still on the trail with some deeper drifts. Snow is solid about 150 yards above the Kachina Lift #4. Lots of traffic to Williams Lake. Good kick stepping above tree line all the way to the saddle with a bit of deep postholing right around treeline, so stay high left. Did not even crampon up. A bit icy and more solid near the saddle and probably should have cramponed up but was already committed at that point...but was still able to kick some steps and use my poles. Summit was windy, but overall a bluebird day. Nice board slide off the the saddle back to the lake.
When the going gets weird...the weird turn Pro. HST

Hey Turbocat - we met briefly on the summit, I was the splitboarder with my dog. Great day up there!

jblyth, awesome day for sure...great way to get that one done. Amazing that there is still that much snow and it is almost June.
