Overnight loop hike recommendations

Post by steelfrog »

Howdy--just curious; the GC RtR can be done pretty easily as an overnight; good trail, good water, 44 miles.

Recently did the Death Canyon-Alaska Basin-Static Divide lollipop loop (29 miles). I really like these long 2 day overnights

And yes, I know they can be done as dayhikes as well.

But anyways, could you give me some of your favorite overnight loops/lollipops that would be, say, 25-50 miles? I'm guessing Four Pass Loop is one?

Anywhere in the continental US.

Many thanks!

One of my more memorable hikes was hells backbone into death hollow near escalate ut. A car shuttle will need to be arranged (easily done by some companies in ut). Desert hiking, canyon erring (non technical), river wading and scenery well worth the effort. The trip can be done in 2 days, but you'll need to hustle.

Another 2 day adventure that I would like to try is the ipw loop mentioned in backpacker magazine this month - brainard lake, pass by Audubon/toll, down around to crater lake by lone eagle and then over Pawnee. A little closer to those on the front range.
