Ryan Ghelfi has broken Rickey Gates' FKT (fastest known time) for ascent of Mt Shasta by 65 seconds. He made it up in 1h37m5s on July 6. This record has remarkable history going all the way back to John Muir in 1874 (really! Muir did the ascent in 4h10m)

In the above thread he said, "For gear I used middle distance track spikes with long spikes and trekking poles, no ice ax."
That's a crazy fast time. 3.6 miles and 6024' elevation. Makes my legs hurt just thinking about it.

Re: Mt Shasta FKT
pbakwin, you've have an awesome site over there! I'm surprised there aren't more speed records (published by others) for other peaks. I would guess there isn't much notoriety involved in a FKT for individual peaks, but it sounds more like a community challenge than anything else. I did see your thread on 14ers, but there are hundreds on other cool linkups and runs, and although applications like Strava take speed records, there are a lot of places where it the map database doesn't have trails.
I can see it now:
From this point in time, I now claim the FKT of the self-powered, unsupported, 7 out of 9 Hogback challenge (excluding 6205 and 6262). I have included no GPS tracks nor evidence of me actually following the rules I claimed to follow beforehand, but you will find my business card on each summit exalting my awesomeness.
