Congrats to all. Been off line for several days so I just now read the TR. Wow.
Heading out to the garage to check the skins, tune the skis and pray for snow.
Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

Did you use the skis to ascend at all or carry them up the whole way?

I'm sure everyone (ok, not everyone, but lots of folks) would be interested in your gear list as we plan out future trips. Thanks for including the "things we wish we had, things we were glad we had".

If anyone's interested in an Osprey Switch pack like comin2getcha had, I've still got one in the classifieds! (hey, a little shameless promotion never hurts right before the holidays)

That TR made me all the more committed to getting down to Mexico to attempt Orizaba. I don't think I'll bring skis, but I definitely can't wait to get down there. Congrats on a great climb! =D>

Bump for vicarious awesomeness. Great TR!

We did not skin up any part of the glacier; near bullet-proof snow would have made for horrible bite and we would have been sliding all over the place. As for the gear list, we'd be happy to send you our edited version of what Servimont originally sent us. So, if you want a copy of it, comin2getcha and I each have one we could email.

Alan - I didn't know you were registered on here! Your info helped us a ton - again, thanks so much!

Bean: That's funny about the camera angle! Looking back at those photos, you wouldn't know we were skiing 35-40 degree terrain - the photos look more like low 30's!
