Looking for partners for blanc

Post by cmohseni »

Hey all, I will be in Chamonix June 8-11, and will be going up the gouter of blanc on the 9th and 10th. Anyone going to be in the area and interested in joining me for the climb? Thanks.

Yes! - just let me plan a last minute trip to France to climb one of the deadliest mountains in the world with a total stranger whose summit strategy involves fishing for climbing partners 5 days before the ascent.

DIA>Geneva flights are a steal at $2114, and I've been banking vacation time at work on the off chance that someone would invite me on an international climbing expedition. What fortunate circumstances!

Can you pick me up at that airport?
I am unable to walk away from the mountain without climbing it. An unclimbed mountain tugs at my consciousness with the eternal weight of time itself. Until I've pressed my face into it's alpine winds, hugged it's ancient granite walls, and put it's weathered summit beneath my heal I'm unable to resist it's attraction.Knowing nature gives the mountain more time than she gives us adds urgency to the obsession. As has been said before; the mountain doesn't care.

It can wait forever. I cannot.

Frankly it does sound a little fishy.

My first post was on April 16th regarding some questions for soloing the route as this has been my initial plan the entire time. I just decided that if someone was already planning on being in Chamonix with this goal in mind then we could meet up. I wouldn't expect anyone currently in CO to be flying out to meet me. My plan right now will be to solo the gouter. I will post a trip report after to let you guys know how it goes.
