ID this peak

Post by AFDusmc »

A bit of a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone could ID the mountain in this painting? I bought it at auction and there was no additional information and the author's name is difficult to read.

Thanks!

Cool painting....though I think it's possible that it's not a real mountain.

It's like you've never even seen a picture of Mount Bross before.

Wait....was Bross named after Bob Ross? B.Ross?? Was the construction of Mount Bross inspired by the beauty of his paintings?

Even with an artistic interpretation of a mountain, there's got to be a particular mountain(s) the artist had in mind when painting it. The painting does put me in mind of the Tetons.

I was thinking an artistic rendering of the Eiger, as viewed further to the right of this one:

The shape looks similar to Mt Olympus in the Wasatch, but it probably isn't that.

If the Olympus photo was taken from slightly north, the left peak is more pointed.
