Bierstadt-Sawtooth-Evans around Turkeyday!

Post by atalarico »

So, my brother is coming in from Seattle for Thanksgiving. He's extremely fit and I have no doubt as to his physical capabilities at doing this, and he's used to high elevation exertion as he did the RAMROD (Mt. Rainer) ride last year.

Anyway, I was wondering if it's looking like there won't be a whole lot of snow on the route. I think we'd both be willing to crampon up and use ice-axes, but I'm just wondering what kind equipment I should bring up.

Will parka's be necessary? Will it be in the teens or more towards the 20's and 30's?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

Cheers.

Click this link (forecast.weather.gov) a few days before your trip. It will have your temperature info and lots more (try the "hourly weather graphs" link near the bottom for more forecast fun).

Note that about a foot of snow is forecast for the next few days, so current conditions are unlikely to remain in place for your trip.
