If you can get a 4x4, take the road to Antero. Take a right turn at 13,000 ft. and drive down the road to Brown's Lake. Park at the U in the road near the lake. Hike southwest and circle around the flat areas near the lake (stay away from those flat areas, nasty swamp) and then hike up the steep tundra between Carbonate and Tabeguache and angle up towards Pt. 13,986. Tabeguache is a nice scramble from there.
