How is Mt. Evans looking?

Post by Ampol324 »

Has anyone been up Mt. Evans recently? My friends and I were thinking of knocking it out this Sunday (aug31) but I know there's been some snowfall and may have more tonight. I've done Gray's with a decent amount of snow but the trail was fine and no crampons needed. Not sure how Evans would be though. Any input would be appreciated!

I just hiked from Summit Lake over Mt. Spalding on Thursday. There were some very small patches of snow and some icy rocks here and there, but nothing significant. I had no equipment and made it up and down with no trouble.

That webcam is a great peek at the top by the way. :)

We did Spalding to Evans today from Summit Lake. Nothing that's not avoidable; lots of frost and ice on the ascent (we started just prior to 6am).
