Mt. Bierstadt Route - west slope

Post by JackB »

Could anyone tell me if the route to the summit of Bierstadt from the Guanella Pass TR is marked? The book, "Colorado's Fourteeners" by Roach says that for the West Slope route there is a "sea of willows" that it implies should be avoided. Thank you for any information that you might have.

Regards,

It's very marked, unless you consider "boardwalk" to be not marked.

Most definitely - depending upon when you go, you're sure to make some new friends. :)

Well marked, except for the last 300' ascent up the scree/boulders. You just have to climb up them the easiest way possible. Generally a very busy trail.

:) And it'll be the weekend while I'm there. Guess I won't be hurting for company.

Thanks for posting.
