Maroon Peak This weekend?

Post by timashurst »

A buddy and I are contemplating making an attempt for Maroon Peak Saturday morning, I was wondering if anybody has been in the area this week and has a report on the south ridge route. Thanks everybody!

I was up there Saturday. No snow on the "trail" at all. Unless Aspen gets a snowstorm between now and Saturday, you should be fine! There is snow, however, on the northern exposure of both the bells, so if you're contemplating a traverse, be aware of that!

I'm looking at climbing N. Maroon on Monday. Any estimate on how much snow is on the northern aspect of the peak ?
