Sinclair Couloir on Quandary
Did the west ridge of Quandary with a decent down the south face directly to the Blue Lakes Trail Head. Ended up in a couloir with some nasty class 5 down climbing. I saw a memorial at the mouth of the couloir for Shawn Sinclair. Wondering if anyone has been on this route before and/or has any input our info on it.

Re: Sinclair Couloir on Quandary
Fun line, I've skied it and snow climbed a handful of times. My first time was probably Christmas Day of 04, I unfortunately have no info on the plaque. I can't say I'd ever want to go up there without snow in it, but I'm sure it was an adventure.

Re: Sinclair Couloir on Quandary
I have climbed the length of the couloir without snow in summer and partially in spring with snow exiting at the top of your left trending line and following the edge of the couloir to intersect with the east ridge.
On October 16, 1994, Shawn Sinclair, 23 of Blue River climbed Quandary under a full moon with two others. The fatal accident happened on the descent when he slipped and fell 100 feet from the edge while checking it out.
