Hiking Pike's via the Northwest Slopes

Post by sdfbirdman »

I would like to know what is the average time for a beginner to reach the summit of Pike's Peak via the Northwest Slopes. I am trying to figure out what time to leave in the morning to arrive at 9AM, 9:30AM at the absolute latest. I appreciate all of your help. Thank you all.

I've never been accused of being fast, and it took me just under 4 hours to go from Crags Campground to the Pikes Peak summit house in July. Have fun!

That's about what it took me on a summer hike also, as I recall. And nobody has ever accused me of being a sprinter either...
