Kieners
Anyone been on kieners recently or take a look at it? I assume most snow is melted on the route with the exception of Broadway.
Looks like most of approach to chasm is free of snow until peacock pool crossing so I assume slow shoes aren't required.
Thanks,
YYS89

Re: Kieners
There's a webcam that points at Longs Peak east face 24/7 -
https://www.nps.gov/romo/learn/photosmu ... ebcams.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As I write, it looks like this,
See that lower, gentle arch of snow going L -> R, to the left of the Diamond? That's the Kieners route.
So, there's quite a bit of snow up there, still.

Re: Kieners
Good timing for this thread. From the Longs live cam it looks like the cables route will be good to go at the end of the month when my partner gets into town.
Re: Kieners
Awesome! Glad to have the beta. I want to take a run up this route first chance I get, maybe next week. I hear its one of the finer mountaineering routes in the state.

Check out my conditions report (keyhole rt) from 061316. I included a pic of the cables route (NF).

Re: Kieners
If it ain't three feet deep, Abe will start whining about the lack of a work out.

Re: Kieners
I'll give Abe a workout. I know he'll give me a cardio workout all day.
