Hiking Lincoln and bross

Post by blairteacher »

No rain tomorrow, want to get Lincoln and bross. I have had it suggested to go Lincoln bross then back instead of down bross. Any suggestions. Not a picking hiker.
Thanks
Jeff

I hated the Bross descent. It was rough on my knees. If i were to do it again I would retrace my steps back down the way we came up. But if you have strong knees and ankles it won't be an issue. Just be prepared to be scree/talus skiing. Every step moves under your feet...but you pry won't slip or anything like that.

I'm going second Harkness's feelings about the Bross descent...not fun, but it didn't seem to take all that long either. The key is to not stop suddenly on the scree slopes. I know I emptied a lot of pea-size rocks out of my shoes several times on the descent and had a couple of slips on the way down, but nothing major.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.
