I dunno if it's even worth commenting on the weather since the conditions are so variable. But, as a data point, we had clouds roll in by noon on 2 of our days with rain shortly thereafter. On one of the days we had rain beginning when we got up, like 4:00ish, that came and went all day and into the night. And we had another 2 days that were basically clear with just puffy white clouds that never really built up into thunderheads. There were a couple of clear evenings when it would have been pleasant to be up above Twin Lakes climbing but it's getting dark earlier and earlier each day so you'd better be prepared with a good headlamp to get back to the basin if you decide to go for a late-day attempt on one of the peaks.

Anyone have any accommodation suggestions in the Durango area?

Headin down there in next week with a few friends, and in need for some pre and post train lodgings.

Thanks, Peter

I stayed at an Airbnb room back in July, was probably about half the rate of the local hotels.
