If law enforcement actually dragged their a**** up to arrest a jumper, I would be surprised.justiner wrote:Lizard Head is in Wilderness.

If you get up Lizard Head yourself, you have my respect. I'll leave it at that.Headwall5 wrote:If law enforcement actually dragged their a**** up to arrest a jumper, I would be surprised.
Have you also considered Roan Plateau cliffs near Rifle? They don't fit the description of being a 13er/14er, but I believe you can jump legally there.

Again, not vertical, but Uncompahgre has 4 very tight 200' contours. Most of 800' it looks to me. Not my photo...but it looks like a good diving board.

So I'm assuming youre not interested in Uncompahgre since it already has at least one "first descent"? The video was floating around on facebook a few months back.

There are three kinds of base-jumpers.
1. Those who were killed doing it.
2. Those who will be killed doing it.
3. Those who know someone who was killed doing it.
Good luck.

I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

That looks very promising actually..highpilgrim wrote:Again, not vertical, but Uncompahgre has 4 very tight 200' contours. Most of 800' it looks to me. Not my photo...but it looks like a good diving board.
Someone's jumped that? I'm not just looking to open exits, I'm interested in combining jumping with my passion for Colorado's wild peaks.nsaladin wrote:So I'm assuming youre not interested in Uncompahgre since it already has at least one "first descent"? Thanks Mom, I'll play safe.Scott P wrote:There are three kinds of base-jumpers.

The basins around there are surprisingly grassy and low angle. And there are good viewing areas for camera work, some in profile.Headwall5 wrote:That looks very promising actually..
I'll look forward to seeing something on this.
Good luck, and be safe.

The east side of Handies, and the ridge connected to it going further east? Not certain it would go like the Diamond on Longs, but it looks legit to me.

Re: Overhung Cliffs on 14ers/13ers
I've always wondered if the Diving Board on Pyramid Peak would go as a base jump. Finding a good landing area would be extremely difficult though.
