Elbert was nice and dry when I flew over it on Sep 27th, sure it's seen some fresh snow since then.

I did Elbert on Sunday. Here is video on my Instagram account. https://instagram.com/p/BLE3qmDjeWT/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Conditions were great. We got a dusting last night in Breckenridge above 11k, with more expected Thursday. The standard route has plenty of sun exposure and should be in good condition over the next week.

There was a bit of snow yesterday from yesterday's storm. It was pretty much just above treeline with a light dusting in the trees that has probably melted out. The storm stopped at Elbert, there was nothing on Massive or Oklahoma going north. This is looking at the south side of Elbert and was taken from Quail. Sorry for the poor quality. I had to zoom in a bit and crop.

Thanks for posting this question, hilo21. I'm headed there this weekend and was wondering the same thing.

My newbie question: will I need microspikes on Elbert this Saturday? I'm planning to use the standard Northeast Ridge route.

Thanks!

I always carry micros this time of year just in case. Sometimes I need them, sometimes I don't.
