Alright, deciding on Grand Junction/Fruita for this wknd instead...
Anybody know what Grand Mesa is looking like? I know it had skiable snow earlier this month, but I've never been there...will it be a muddy slop fest? Or possibility of enjoyable hike (Crags)? Simply never been there....
Thanks!

Re: Grand Mesa conditions?
This might not help, but about 2 weeks ago, it looked a bit like January. All the lakes were mostly frozen except small parts at sunset lake. The trailhead for Crag Crest was still blocked with 4 or 5 feet of snow. Quite a bit of snow on the ground. Didn't look mushy, but we didn't ski. We called up there today and one of the lodges said that Island lake is still frozen, but quite a bit of warmer weather recently and forcasted.

Re: Grand Mesa conditions?
Anyone have any recent trip reports to Grand Mesa, preferably in summer to fall conditions, but anytime of year. I'm not planning on going there, just curious about the mesa. I never found and trip reports for it.
