Has anyone been up there lately? The trail to Odessa lake seems reasonable (I'll have snowshoes) but am curious as to the difficulty of topping out on little matterhorn in winter.

I'm sure snowshoes would be necessary, and most likely crampons/ice axe once you are actually on the mountain.

Have you done Little Matterhorn in the summer? It was a pretty long climb in good conditions, so I think you could expect 12+ hours in the winter.

Here is a trip report from this summer when my wife and I did it.

Best of luck!

I'm not sure about snow conditions as of now but my thoughts would be...

If snow was stable, you most likely could gain the ridge without too many issues. The main problem would be negotiating the ridge to access the summit. I would carry a rope for several exposed spots to gain the final summit.
