Given that Halloween is almost here....
Anyone know anything about the location of Emma Crawford's original, and/or 2nd grave site on Manitou Springs' Red Mountain? Have coordinates? A description? Is there a marker?
Haven't been able to find anything specific about it, other than she was originally buried, "on the summit". Then (by some reports) moved to the east side of the mountain to accommodate construction of the, "other incline", then washed down the mountain, then buried a 3rd time in Crystal Valley Cemetery (although it's uncertain if her actual remains are there or what happened to them).
That chick saw more action after she died than some living people I know!

Planning an alpine ghost-hunt for Thursday, are we? Cool idea.

Sounds a little like The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.

Yes, a Halloween hike would have been cool, but I was not able to make it work out this year. Maybe I'll try to scope it out in the daylight and make plans for next year. Been fascinated by her story since they started up the coffin races (in her honor).
"The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" that's a title I haven't heard in years! Saw it once, many moons ago, will have to rewatch it.

You can't scope it out first in the daylight - just wouldn't be right.

So true! Not sure what I was thinking!Tortoise1 wrote:You can't scope it out first in the daylight - just wouldn't be right.
I don't need to scope it out in the daytime nor do I need coordinates...I'll just head up there and look for a ghost tying a red ribbon to a tree.
