No worries. Re: snow. On 3 of my 4 RRR runs, (2006, 2009 and 2013) there were only patches of snow, sometimes completely avoidable, other times requiring just a few steps to get across, but never an issue (good for freshening up the water supply). In April 2010 however, the N. Rim had just seen it's 2nd snowiest Winter on record. There was still 3-6 feet covering the final few miles of trail. I hit it early enough, that I could mostly stay on top, but would occasionally post hole and there was always the fear of postholing, so it slowed progress (primarily on the descent).

Here's an idea, run from the top of Apex in Golden to the top of Mt Falcon in Morrison and back. That should be a good simulation of the Grand Canyon.
