Anyone seen or been up to the citadel recently? Thinking about heading up tomorrow if there isn't much snow.

Saw guys with skis above Upper Forest Lake in James Peak Wilderness Area today. Tracks seen in the far left and far right snowfields - can't see tracks in pic though.

Lots of snow cover between 10,500 and treeline. Above treeline, only big snow fields remain.

Hiked to Herman Lake today. Lots of snow in the trees where the trail turns up steeply heading to the lake. The trail zigzags around and breaks treeline and crosses 2 large snowfields en route to the lake. Got to sit there for a half hour all be myself, pretty rare!

Nice - I was up there only two weeks ago and it's amazing to see the difference.

Where's a good place for viewing columbines?

This father of a toddler is having a hard time getting out early enough during the week to hit the higher peaks during this monsoon season. What suggestions for awesome Front Range hikes do you all have that mostly keep below treeline or near it in case of weather?

If you go on the weekends, most of these suggestions will have a lot of people on the trail for at least a couple more weeks (especially the ones in Rocky Mountain National Park). Hope this list helps. I'm sure others can add to it. What types of hikes are you looking for? Mountains (12k ft or lower), lakes, waterfalls, passes, etc?

6-9 miles RT
Twin Sisters (RMNP)
Chasm Lake (RMNP)
Sky Pond (RMNP)
Black Lake (RMNP)

Shorter distance
Lake Isabelle (Indian Peaks Wilderness)
Mohawk Lakes (near Breckenridge, technically Tenmile Range)
Emerald Lake (RMNP)

Longer distance
Lion Lakes (RMNP)
Buffalo and McCurdy Pks (Lost Creek Wilderness)

The views aren't as nice as some of the other lakes I listed, but it is a nice hike. Less people to deal with in that area of the Park as well.

I wanted to bump this since we have early snow in the foothills. Any reports on local trails? I was hoping to hike in the Flatirons or Mt. Sanitas this week. Thanks.

Looking for conditions on North Table Mountain and South Boulder Peak/ Bear Peak if anyone has been up and around there since the storm.
