Dragtonail conditions are much like Dino mentioned from earlier this week. The snow was in pretty good shape but the earlier the start the better. We started from the TH @ 5:30 and topped out @ 9. The rock step was still a 3 move deal. We didn't use any pro. The first 20-30' after the step had pretty crappy snow but it got better. Didn't take snowshoes and didn't regret the decision.

Thanks for the update! How deep was the snow on the way down?

There were a few spots above treeline where we post holed a bit but nice and compact once below.

Great picture! Mmmmmm I really want to summit Flattop and Hallett, should I bring snowshoes or not?

We were up on Flattop and Hallett yesterday. Despite a late start, we carried snowshoes but did not end up using them. We did post-hole a bit but it wasn't worth stopping to put on snowshoes.
