Family hikes around Winter Park?
My nephew and his family are visiting next week in Winter Park. Can you recommend a couple easy family hikes for me to pass on to him? They were out last year and did well with their 5 and 8 year old kids on 4-5 mile stuff around RMNP. THANKS!

They might like St Louis Lake, accessed from the Fraser Experimental Forest. It's about 6 miles round trip. Sometimes you can see goats up high
on the ridges.

For young kids, a few recs:
Columbine Lake above Tabernash in the Indian Peaks Wilderness (hike might be too long for the 5-year-old, but it's nice even if you don't hike all the way)
The waterfall trail or Nine Mile Mountain at Snow Mountain Ranch / YMCA of the Rockies.
Strawberry Lake near Granby.

Re: Family hikes around Winter Park?
In Grand Lake now with my family. If they trek down here, Adams Falls is just a .6 mile round trip for a pretty cool water fall area. My sister and her husband also did Cascade Falls that's supposed to be 7 miles round trip. If you want to give them a 14er centric hike, what about the Longs Peak trail up to Chasm Lake. Could get an awesome view of the Diamond Face.

I spent a few summers working around Winter Park. Nice area.
The Rollins Pass area is nice.
If you want a peak, you could always do Heartbeat Peak or Mount Epworth.
A little scrambling is involved on Epworth, but my five and seven year old did it quickly:

There are lots of good hikes to lakes in the area as well.
Deadman Lake, Pumphouse Lake, and Corona Lake are all really good for kids and pretty easy hikes. King Lake too.
Jim Creek Waterfalls is a good one right next to Winter Park. There's also the trail along Fraser Creek.
Colorado Mines is an easy peak ascent if you are acclimatized.
At the Snow Mountain Ranch, there is Sheep Mountain (Snow Mountain), Ninemile Mountain, and the Waterfalls.
If you are interested, you can see all the hikes we did in the summer while I was working around Winter Park (the hikes were done with my five and seven year old):

See June 3 through August 19. It should give a good idea of the hikes available there.

I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Thanks a bunch. I'll pass this along. These options will help for sure.
