There isn't one.

In fact, you shouldn't even bother going outside unless you can summit something. You're better off staying in the basement playing World of Warcraft.

Scenic yes- Remote, no.

Can you find solitude in RMNP? Possibly. Start early, go on the weekdays, go off-season, or simply go up higher.

Ouzel Falls - Wild Basin

I recommend this hike mid to late June for the roaring river. The route currently has some flood damage from fall 2013 flooding, and the bridge is out at Ouzel Falls. Still, if you like waterfalls and need an easy hike for your relatives, this might just be the ticket. I can't think of too many high reward/low effort hikes that top this.

Ironically mountains were my salvation from the Damnation of WoW. I guess you could say I am a recovering addict.

I pity Gemini Peak across the notch from Sherman.
A 49' short of 14K. Same views and effort.
Gets about one percent the traffic of Sherman.

Does a trip to IKEA count as a non-summit hike?

Feh, unranked. A true non-summit. Hey, there's your answer! Just do unranked peaks!

Gemini is not ranked. Doesn't count anyways.

Good to know. I post a lot of trip reports on my personal site, but have only posted the 14er summit reports over here. Might need to start sharing some others :)
