I was googling Loomis Lake, since I'm working on plans for a fly fishing trip to Colorado next week.
I bumped into this rescue report from RMNP from one of the peaks that looms above the Loomis Lake area.
Glad this guy was able to call in his own rescue, but it's scary that his injuries were apparently bad. Obviously, I hope that he has a quick recovery.

Re: RMNP -- Incident on peak above Loomis Lake ...
Overshadowed by the guy who got stuck on Broadway, but those cliffs on Gabletop are very impressive. After climbing Gabletop I decided to get a look down into the cirque, it didn't take long to reach some outward sloping ledges I decided not to play around on. Climbing up that NE face would be quite an accomplishment.
Fern, Spruce, Primrose Pond and Loomis are all great sight fishing lakes that you'd likely have all to yourself. The trail past Spruce is reasonably easy to find and follow as I remember, but it was in 2010. Stick to the south side of Primrose. If you're bored for an hour and want a nice lunch spot, I'd highly recommend climbing up to Castle Rock. I don't fish much anymore but I can't think of too many better lakes for the effort, solitude and proximity as those 4. There's a few of the lighter colored greenbacks in the lake too, they might be the Colorado River variety.
