Loveland Pass West Ridge Conditions

Post by xcrunner365 »

I'm curious as to the conditions on the ridge that continues west from Loveland Pass. I was looking to tag point 12,585' as well as point 12,752' from the pass in the next few days. I'm wondering if the ridge has melted out enough so that one could ascend the ridge by just avoiding the cornices? I did see an update recently for Sniktau and it did look relatively dry. Any updates would be appreciated!

It's almost certainly melted out at this point.

Al Henceforth, the COO at ABasin, has been posting pictures recently. The last one here was taken on the 20th, looking towards the pass. Doesn't show the west side, but it should be similar.

Thanks for the update. I ended up going back on the 19th and found it almost totally bare.
