Mt Zirkel conditions?

Post by JenGa »

Hi all. Does anyone know about the snow conditions in the Mt Zirkel wilderness area? I'd like to get out to do some hiking this weekend and I'm not sure what to expect in terms of snow.

Thanks, Jen

Lat weekend it was a mud, swamp, postholing, mosquito fest. The Zirkel Wilderness is beautiful, but I'd suggest waiting.

Snowfall isn't above normal, but it usually is like this at this time of year. Current snow level is around 10,000 feet, with some snowbanks lower, which is pretty average for late June.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
