Front Range trailrun - Fall Color suggestions?

Post by YonderMountain »

Looking for 8 - 12 mile run in the aspens for later this week. Was thinking Abyss trail (not the full 18 mile RT) but from what I have read it doesn't appear to be runnable? looking for something in the IPW / Mount Evans Wilderness / Kenosha pass areas. Under 2k vertical would be ideal. Thank you!!

Thank you Joel for the suggestions and linking Trail Run Project! I had no idea about that website but it looks great for CO trailrunners.

Not sure about which trees are peaking, where, but
Hell's Hole clocks in around 9M roundtrip and just under 2k gain.
Saw good pics from a friend on the Ben Tyler trail last weekend (could do an out-and-back to suit your needs, but might be on the edge for your desired elevation gain)
Either side of Kenosha pass should be good, with the west side being steeper of course...sounds like you might be able to hit a weekday which would be nicer.

Have a good run!
