Anyone interested in doing the Incline this week, most likely Wednesday.

Nothing worse than not having company on the incline.schumi248 wrote:Anyone interested in doing the Incline this week, most likely Wednesday.

Re: Manitou Incline
Wednesday's a bad choice if you want company - only 578 Incliners last Wednesday!
Manitou Incline Counter
If you can hold out for the weekend you might get to do it with 1600-1800 other people. Wait, this is Memorial Day Weekend, so it could hit 2,000.
Sorry about the sarcasm...have a great hike. With those numbers, you will probably run into somebody you know up there!

Re: Manitou Incline
I thought this weekend's counts looked low - the way people were complaining I thought for sure there were over 2000 per day. It never did get to the magic 3000 in a day number, but I'm confident it'll happen this year.

Re: Manitou Incline
Think the Almagres are doable without the slowshoes right now?
It's one of the options I'm considering for this Saturday.
Thanks.

Re: Manitou Incline
Who would ever consider Almagre?
I mean it's only 12,349 ' ...
Oh wait, never mind.
Stay away! This is a disgusting, suffer-fest
flea infested, rump of a pile of rubble.
Thousands have died (or have never been found)
in this DANGEROUS wilderness. It's actually
not even a peak! From the trail head you actually
DESCEND for several thousand meters on really
disgusting scree. Very very few actually make the
nearly impossible climb back out!
Only locals who love this place (like me)
actually know the ONLY safe path.

What?! I don't see anything on their website regarding any closure. I was planning on doing the Incline on August 27th.Lawrencebg wrote:Get it done now before it closes in August for several months
