13ers.com Updates

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Tue Feb 10, 2009 10:47 am

I know I've neglected 13ers.com recently but I'm getting ready to add hundreds (maybe thousands) of new photos to the 13ers.com peak pages.

In preparation for the additions, I just updated 13ers.com to include dynamic photo pages that provide easier navigation. Now that these changes have been made it will be much easier to start adding new photos, without having to update individual html pages.

More to come...

thanks for doing this Bill - the site just gets better and better - you think it couldn't be better, and then you log on and it is ! i am curious why west spanish peak isn't on the 13er list ? Can we claim it for kansas ? i think only its sister mountain east spanish is closer - we'll take them both ! mt. sunflower leaves a lot to be desired

Is there a hyperlink on 14ers.com to 13ers.com? Maybe I'm just blind...

Click the Links menu item and it's the first link under "Sister Sites".

To clarify, the main range links on the 13ers.com page show only 13ers for which I have photos posted. If you want to see the entire list, click the "Entire list of 13ers" link near the bottom of the 13ers.com home page.

I plan on changing each "Range" page to include all of the 13ers for that range, some just won't have links.

Bill,
Have you considered adding user submitted routes much like the non-standard route descriptions availible for many of the 14ers? I am sure many of the members here would love to have that kind of information and if the members made them it wouldn't be to much work for you.

I did that and some people took me up on it. See this thread

13ers.com: The range pages now show all of the 13ers in each range. The peaks with active links have photos available.
