Well good news, the USFS will no longer be hassling people for illegal fees to travel a state highway and/or access the wilderness along it. They're reportedly still obstructing the highway to try to extract money out of people but that should change soon.

Any details on how this came about? Curious what changed, happened, or was ruled on. Good news!

Climbing partner: "Is this uphill the whole way?"
Kojones: "No, only half the hike is uphill."

Western Slope No Fee Coalition represented a couple plaintiffs, who settled out of court with the USFS. The settlement includes a thru-lane down by the fee booth, and changing the "fee area" from the entire corridor to three distinct locations (the visitor center at Mt. Goliath, Summit Lake, and the summit). Cyclists no longer have to pay any fees to avoid being bullied and threatened by USFS employees for enjoying the view at the top, as well.

I have never seen this thread before today, and it is AWESOME!!!

We should have a celebratory bonfire using the "tickets" we have all been issued over the years!
