Are they fixing it up as well now that it is legal? Though, I admit the old crooked railroad ties and exposed rebar gave it personality. :)

Looks like the plan is to fix it up a bit. Though I personally think that the way it is makes up a lot of the appeal. I'd be disappointed if it becomes a regular maintained stairway. But, I'm only one person and I'm sure they have liability issues to deal with now.

Lycra may or may not have been involved.

NO NO NO IT'S ONLY FOR US!!! :) Seriously, I would think it would have to be done at least once if you live in Denver, just to see what it is like!

Once? Sure. It's sort of a cult classic

Yeah, I would drive down there just to do the incline once. It has a great view of Manitou Springs and you can keep going up the Barr Trail once you get to the top.

looks super fun...I'll have to head down there and try it. Is there ice/patches of snow right now or dry (not sure of the aspect)

I have to assume there's snow right now but that will be gone by the weekend (there's sometimes patches of ice in the shade but usually avoidable).

This (from the other thread) was taken yesterday morning. By the weekend, it will be mostly clear of snow/ice, with just a couple patches of slipperyness. Some folks prefer spikes and trax, but definitely not necessary.
