Just want to take the opportunity to give one more big thanks to SAR for their work on this and everything else. (And thanks to all SAR's everywhere.)

Sad news. Thoughts with the fallen climber's friends and family, and thanks to MRA for mounting up once again.

Sad news. To answer an earlier question, if you start at the Snowmass Creek TH you can head up the West fork to Moon Lake then under Mt Daly to Capital. I've done this before as it makes a nice loop with Snowmass. He may have been using this route to/from Capital, though purely speculation.

They also probably meant 12,000' elevation as Moon Lake is at 11,750'.the body of the 53-year-old man was found about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Mount Daly Basin, above Moon Lake, at about 11,000 feet in elevation,
So sad to hear. My condolences to his family.

Praying for his family - very sad news.
You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. Hard Rock just posted that Jim Nelson was a 6 time Hard Rock finisher (I met him at an aid station) and Nolan's 14er finisher. Prayers for his family! SJ Ron
