Was so hoping that she would make it last night, when I heard about the rescue taking place.

I was drooling over that line as I was driving back from Silverton Mountain, but saw it as 'not safe for winter'.

Condolences for the fallen, and those that remain. Stay safe out there, people.

Best I can tell, this was the line she was on (Tree line above the chute is around 11,300) :

Thank you, DurangoJenn, for sharing that informative article. Olivia was such a young, beautiful, and experienced gal......definitely doing what she loved. I suspect many folks in the SW part of the state are mourning her death. Thank you to SAR and all the volunteers who helped in her recovery.

Avalanche conditions familiar to 2 skiers

Updated Durango Herald article including an interview with Olivia's ski partner.

Very sad, RIP.

This is very sad. I was in Silverton Wednesday-today and could see her ski tracks with binoculars heading into the spot where it slid.

RIP
