Mohawk Lake(s)

Post by Waggs »

Any reason to NOT overnight in this area 4th of July weekend?

I've been reading old threads here on 14ers, and it seems to be well liked.

I'm not looking to do anything gonzo. Just a several hour hike in, set up camp, do a little fishing, do a little sight-seeing and a whole lot of relaxing.

Thanks in advance.

Plenty of area to camp up there but you'll probably see a ton of people unless you camp away from the trail.

I camped up there last summer and there is excellent camping sites all throughout the woods nearby. But yeah, it is a popular hike with a lot of people. The views are great!

Anyone been up there recently? Curious how much snow is up there to potentially take some flat landers on Friday.

Ryan,
McCullough Gluch was still snowed in on Saturday.
I would guess, Mohawks lakes would still be covered, based on McC.
